Junior Elective Selections for 2022
Year 10 Electives for 2022
Subject Selection Structure for 2022
As Year 10 students in 2022, students will study a second 100-hour course to complement the 100-hour course they completed in Year 9. This will allow students to complete their 400 hours of elective study to meet the requirements for their Stage 5 RoSA (these will be chosen by Year 9 students in August 2021 as part of our normal elective subject selection processes).
100 Hour Curriculum explained
Modular Curriculum – A number of subjects have a modular curriculum, meaning the modules that make up the course can be studied at any point in Stage 5 (Year 9 and 10). These type of 100-hour subjects can be chosen a second time in Year 10 to complete a student’s 200 hours of study.
The three modular subjects are
-
Child Studies
-
Physical Activity and Sport Studies
-
Photographic & Digital Media (Photography)
Non-Modular Curriculum - These subjects have a pre-requisite core curriculum that must be studied before any other optional curriculum can be studied. As a result, these subjects do not allow students who have not previously taken the course to study alongside those students who have already studied 100 hours of the course.
The on-line selection process is structured so that these subjects are not available for selection in 2022 if the student has studied them in 2021. Therefore, a student will not be able to select a course they have studied in 2021.
NOTE: Students will not be able to change their 200-hr course

Please note requirements in regards to WH&S for some courses. Enclosed leather shoes is be compulsory for some subjects.
NOTE: Course Material Costs
Elective subjects involving consumable materials such as food, timber and paints etc, have a levy attached to cover the costs of consumable items used in the course. This levy is NOT a voluntary contribution. This levy is a compulsory elective fee to meet the cost of the consumables and MUST be paid to enable all students to continue successfully in the course. Payment of this levy will allow students to keep completed work. This payment also allows students greater freedom in choosing a range of materials and project sizes in the course of their class work.
